By purchasing the Unlimited license via e-shop section, buyer obtains possibility to use map data by given vendor (like Navteq) in given navigation application (like Aponia Truck GPS Navigation) without time limitation (in contrast to Trial license, which is available in new application installations). Purchased Unlimited license is bound only to the most recent map data version, which is available in moment of purchase of this license. Later releases of map data are, however, offered to holders of older license for free, although the right to change map version release frequency is reserved.

Android

On devices with SIM card license is bound to the IMEI.
On devices without SIM card license is bound to the memory card.

The license is limited in count of various IMEIs and memory cards, which it is bound to in total (activation count).

iOS

In App Purchase license is bound to the Apple ID. The limitation is hence defined by related Apple AppStore Terms & Conditions agreement applicable for your country.
Serial Number license is bound to the device. The license is limited in count of various devices it is used on (activation count).

Bada 2.0 and Windows Mobile / CE

License is bound to the device. The license is limited in count of various devices it is used on (activation count).

Activation count

Each unlimited license (serial number) purchased in our e-shop can be activated on up to five devices. This limit includes device changes as well as using given license on several devices at a time. If this limit is exceeded, new license got to be purchased to get another five activations with this new license, and therefore be able to use the app on additional devices.

No. New app installations contain free trial license, which is being activated upon download of some map. A few days prior its expiration, app starts giving a notification about expiring trial licenses. If there's an equivalent unlimited license present in the app, the warning about given expiring license can be ignored. App stops showing it once the trial license expires, and will continue using the unlimited license. The presence of unlimited license in application can be verified within Menu - Get More - Licence list screen.

Alternatively, the warning may notify about Traffic Information service license expiration. In that case, you may wish to check its expiration date and consider purchase of another one indeed.

Android, iOS, Bada 2.0

Application may need to download additional data after installation (or update) from Google Play, App Store or Samsung Apps stores. Data is downloaded on application startup and its size may be up to tens of MB.

We strongly recommend to complete installation (or update) procedure by launching Aponia GPS Navigation immediately after installation (or update) from Your store, so that you can later use the navigation without internet connection.

We also recommend to disable automatic updates on Google Play and update application manually only when you have Wi-fi connection available.

The app was probably installed into SD card root, and Android security rules prohibits accessing it. Problem can be solved be erasing the installation folder a by launching the app again, restore the removed files in accessible location. Another option is to move /Aponia GPS Navigation folder from SD card root into /Android/data/cz.aponia.bor3.czsk/files/ folder, and then launch the app again.

Android

There are two ways how to do it:

From device´s contact list:

Select the contact you want to navigate to. Click on its address and in menu that will appear select Aponia GPS Navigation. Application will try to find the address using online search (internet connection required). If the address is found it is converted into coordinates which Aponia GPS Navigation is able to navigate you to. In general, entering coordinates instead of address does not work.

Directly from Aponia GPS Navigation via the Contacts menu

Enter the Contacts menu and click on the contact you want to navigate to. Menu with destination options will appear. Contact addresses are processed when entering the menu, but only those contacts fulfilling specific criteria are listed. If you cannot see any contacts, or a contact is located incorrectly in Aponia GPS Navigation, see related FAQ for details.

iPhone and iPad

Enter the Contacts menu and click on the contact you want to navigate to. Menu with destination options will appear. Contact addresses are processed when entering the menu, but only those contacts fulfilling specific criteria are listed. If you cannot see any contacts, or a contact is located incorrectly in Aponia GPS Navigation, see related FAQ for details.

If you cannot see a contact in the list, make sure that it‘s fulfilling the following criteria:

  • contact has some address specified
  • map of country associated with the contact is installed and its license is valid
  • contact address contains at least country and city or ZIP code
  • contact address is present in currently selected map. Use the Destination/Address menu to check that. Try all installed maps of given country.

If you can see a contact in the list, but it’s located incorrectly in the map, make sure that:

  • contact address is present in currently selected map. Use the Destination/Address menu to check that. Try all installed maps of given country.
  • contact address is unique. If there are several ambiguous addresses (like two cities or streets with same name), Aponia GPS Navigation always chooses only the first matching address.

Android

In case that there are separate fields for the individual parts of the address:

  • Street: street name, can include house number
  • City: postal code can be entered instead of the name of the city
  • State: In case that the “Country” field is left empty, this field is used during the address search
  • Postal Code: has to be entered without spaces, the name of the city can be entered instead of the postal code
  • Country: there are four possible ways to enter the country:

In case that there is a single field for the whole contact address on the phone, we recommend entering the address via the contact management service of Gmail.

iPhone and iPad

Besides the criteria above, check that Aponia GPS Navigation has access to Address Book in your device privacy settings, in Settings – Privacy – Contacts screen.

If you use another application to send coordinates to Aponia GPS Navigation, it is launched or switched to foreground (if already running). The coordinates are automatically added into Route Planner and the application starts to navigate you to the selected destination. The disadvantage of this process is its dependence on other applications. Also, any third party application has its own user interface so often it is not easy to find the mentioned functionality.

In order to be able to use maps by multiple (supported) vendors, you need to have a serial number activated for all the providers (vendors) you wish to use maps of.

You can download all desired maps after the serial number is activated.

When there are multiple maps of same country, go to MENU - Settings - Map - Map List to choose a map you wish to use from the list of downloaded maps.

To meet a list of supported vendors and their maps, please visit the e-shop section.

Aponia GPS Navigation uses maps from multiple map data providers. For information on which map is currently being used, see "Settings -> Map -> Map List".

You can report any errors in the Navteq map data at http://mapreporter.navteq.com.

You can report any errors in the CEDA map data by adding a post to the forum at http://forum.navigovat.mobilmania.cz/forum-1852/Chyby-v-mapach-Tele-Atlas-CEDA.html

Copy the GPX file to the "/Android/data/cz.aponia.bor3.czsk/files/Aponia GPS Navigation/Favorites/Import" directory (for older versions of Android, the directory is "Aponia GPS Navigation/Favorites/Import"). In case you wish to import pictures for POI categories, copy the pictures into the same directory. The picture file name must be the same as the GPX file name.

The import can be finished inside the application, in "Favorites -> Import (icon of a floppy disk with an arrow)".

There might be more reasons for this issue

1. Your SD card may be corrupted, either due to incorrect removals or after years of usage. To solve this, backup your files from SD card and then format it completely, so that it's erased from all data. Backup and formatting may be performed e.g. via connecting your device to a Windows PC (look here at one of hundreds of tutorials over the Internet). Next, reinstall Aponia GPS from scratch, and finally restore your data from the backup.

2. This problem is encountered when there is, among other, the Be-on-road folder with outdated data located on your memory card. During its first start, Aponia GPS Navigation attempts to import data from the Be-on-road folder in order to make the transfer from Be-on-road to Aponia GPS Navigation easier for the user.

The application attempts to import the commercial maps as well, so that the user does not have to download the maps again. However, older versions of the OpenStreetMaps don't include information about the map prover, therefore Aponia GPS Navigation attemps to import these maps as well, regardless of the fact that the application cannot use them. This results in the import failure and therefore the application attemps to import the maps again every time the application is launcehd, leading to long delays.

There are two ways to solve the problem:

  • In case you don't intend to use Be-on-road in the future, all you need to do is delete the Be-on-road folder from the memory card.
  • In case you wish to continue using both Aponia GPS Navigation and Be-on-road, you need to update your maps in the Be-on-road application.

On devices with Android 4.4 or higher, the app data can be moved to SD card by following these steps:

  1. Move the app data from the internal storage, directory /Android/data/cz.aponia.bor3.czsk/files, to the SD card to directory /Android/data/cz.aponia.bor3.czsk/files.
  2. Unmount the SD card from your device (either by pulling it out of the device, or via the device settings).
  3. Mount the SD card again.
  4. Launch the application.

The database of your Favorites is being stored within the Favorites folder inside the installation directory. To back up your favorites, just backup entire Favorites folder. The folder location differs based on platform:

  • iOS (iPhone, iPad) – look into app's File Sharing folder via iTunes.
  • Android – check all available storages and SD cards:
    • Android 4.4 or newer: /Android/data/cz.aponia.bor3.czsk/files/Aponia GPS Navigation
    • Android 4.3 or older: /Aponia GPS Navigation
  • WinCE/Windows Mobile – on one of available storages or SD cards: /Aponia GPS Navigation
Once you locate the folder, just copy it to your PC to later restore it when needed. You can also copy it into different Aponia GPS installation (e.g. on another device).

Aponia GPS Navigation supports loading and navigating routes in GPX file format. Therefore, all you need to do is to prepare your route in Google Maps and export it into GPX file. Make sure the file has .gpx extension. Locate navigation app installation folder on your device and put the file into routes/ directory. Then, in Aponia GPS navigation, you can load the route via "Menu -> Route Planner -> Load Route".

Note: iOS users can send the GPX file to an e-mail, which they can open on their iOS device. Attached file can be opened from the e-mail message by choosing Aponia GPS Navigation from the list of apps shown upon tapping the attachment. The route can be then again loaded via Route Planner.
